You've been in my thoughts -
And I could not figure out why -
For the truth of the matter is,
I barely even know you...
But at odd moments of the day
I find myself wondering
How you are coping,
Wondering if you are ok...
And my only contact with you
Is through this keyboard,
Twenty-six letters - All I have
To show my concern.
Each keystroke carefully measured
Like the listened-to beating
Of a watched child's heart -
Sometimes labourous and painful.
I feel in my bones
The weight of this caring -
And I wonder what good
Could possibly come of it...?
But you too, offer ME hope
Some small comfort for my care
When I see your digital "smile"
The knowledge you are well...
I realise this web of contacts
That I have so contrived -
So delicately woven,
Serves a purpose after all...
You offer me thanks for my care -
Now I offer you MY thanks,
For the acceptance of my care -
To know my thoughts, are not pointless...

If you check in from time to time, contact me. I love this work. It meant a lot to me when you wrote it and little Nick was battling for his life. It means a lot now.
I miss you - saw you had some problems with someone hacking here. I've checked in at the other site, too. It would be great to know you are doing well.
